چکیده

In this paper a macroscopic phenomenological model for the T cell mediated immune response due to a single type of antigen challenge is developed in the framework of the thermodynamic theory of fluid mixtures. Proliferation events accounting for the generation of T cell clones are considered, determining a non conservative balance for mass and momentum densities for the mixture as a whole in a way analogous to some cases in tumor modelling and growth of tissues.

Effect of pleurotus sajor-caju polysaccharide encapsulated in poly D, L lactide-co-glycolide nanoparticles for HPV vaccine in murine model

Objective(s): In the current work, poly D, L lactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) particles were applied for a viral vaccine for the delivery of antigens in cytosolic pathway by increasing the antigen presentation to T-lymphocytes. HPV-E7 protein with PLGA particles has been reported as a potent adjuvant for HPV vaccine by encapsulating protein into the PLGA particles. Polysaccharide from Pleurotus sajo...

Antigen-experienced CD4 T cells display a reduced capacity for clonal expansion in vivo that is imposed by factors present in the immune host.

It is thought that protective immunity is mediated in part by Ag-experienced T cells that respond more quickly and vigorously than naive T cells. Using adoptive transfer of OVA-specific CD4 T cells from TCR transgenic mice as a model system, we show that Ag-experienced CD4 T cells accumulate in lymph nodes more rapidly than naive T cells after in vivo challenge with Ag. However, the magnitude o...

NSOM/QD-based nanoscale immunofluorescence imaging of antigen-specific T-cell receptor responses during an in vivo clonal Vγ2Vδ2 T-cell expansion.

Nanoscale imaging of an in vivo antigen-specific T-cell immune response has not been reported. Here, the combined near-field scanning optical microscopy- and fluorescent quantum dot-based nanotechnology was used to perform immunofluorescence imaging of antigen-specific T-cell receptor (TCR) response in an in vivo model of clonal T-cell expansion. The near-field scanning optical microscopy/quant...

On the site and mode of antigen presentation for the initiation of clonal expansion of CD8 T cells specific for a natural tumor antigen.

Because of the low frequency of antigen-specific T cells, early events in the activation of tumor-specific T cells in vivo have not been well characterized. There is still no direct documentation on where the clonal expansion begins and how tumor antigens are presented to the host CD8 T cells to initiate it. Here we used transgenic T cells specific for a natural tumor antigen P1A to evaluate th...

Clonal exhaustion as a result of immune deviation.

An overwhelming virus infection that spreads within a few days throughout the host can cause deletion of the specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL). This phenomenon is known as 'clonal exhaustion'. Current explanations for this phenomenon are 'clonal', and consider either the terminal differentiation of the virus-specific CTL to an effector phenotype, or the lack of help and antigen presentatio...
